- Full Android TV — every IPTV app available, directly from the Google Play Store.
- Powerful hardware — the Tegra X1+ chip handles 4K HDR and Dolby Atmos without the frame drops you sometimes see on budget devices.
- Gigabit Ethernet — a wired connection at full speed, built in. No adapter needed.
- Plex server capability — the Shield Pro can run Plex Media Server alongside IPTV, turning it into a full home media hub.
Setting up TiviMate on Nvidia Shield
- Open the Google Play Store on the Shield.
- Search for TiviMate and install it.
- Open TiviMate and select Add Playlist → Xtream Codes API.
- Enter your server URL, username, and password.
- Select Hardware (MediaCodec) as the player engine — the Shield's GPU handles this far better than software decoding.
- Your channels and TV guide load automatically.
Getting the best quality
- Use the built-in Ethernet port and connect via a wired cable — the Shield's advantage is wasted on Wi-Fi.
- In TiviMate settings, enable Hardware Decoding and set the maximum stream quality to 4K if your provider offers it.
- If you have TiviMate Premium, enable Catch-Up — it works excellently on Shield and lets you rewind live TV.
